Tac SHAC Shooting Club

For over 15 years, Tac SHAC Shooting Club has proudly operated from the Cecil Payne Shooting Range in Roodepoort. We shoot year-round – including public holidays (yes, even Christmas). Our doors stay open so our members always have a consistent, welcoming place to train, improve, and connect.

We are proud to announce our affiliation with EGPSA (Eastern Gauteng Practical Shooting Association).

We also proudly support:

• GOSA Girls on Fire NPC – empowering women through strength, confidence, and preparedness.
• GOSA (Gun Owners South Africa) – advocating for the rights of lawful firearm owners.

We operate from our own dedicated section at the Cecil Payne / JMPD Shooting Range, offering:

• Two exclusive shooting yards
• Club-only storage container and bathroom facilities
• A fully equipped, recently upgraded killhouse, reserved exclusively for members

Our facilities provide a safe, professional environment for both recreational shooters and serious competitors.

We cater for:

• Shooters developing their skills
• Members wanting to obtain or maintain Dedicated Status
• Competitive shooters aiming for Provincial or National level

Your first shoot with us is FREE – come try us out.

• Joining Fee (once-off): R250
• Annual Membership (Adults): R600
• Annual Membership (65+ & Under 18): R400

  • R250 (Non-members) – includes range fees

Registration is done via the NARFO portal, selecting Tac SHAC as your home club.

You can also obtain Dedicated Status through this portal without joining NARFO.

Tac SHAC is affiliated with EGPSA. Competitive members must belong to:

• EGPSA (Provincial Body) – R450 annually
• SAPSA (National Body) – March to March

IPSC affiliation allows you to compete for Provincial and National Colours.

All Tac SHAC 3 Gun Nation shoots count toward Dedicated Status.

We shoot throughout the year. If a public holiday affects scheduling, we simply reschedule – we don’t stop shooting.

Thursday Morning Shoots (Handgun & PCC)

• 07:30 – 10:30
• IPSC-style format
• All skill levels welcome

Many of our members started as beginners here and have progressed to top-ranked IPSC competitors nationally and internationally.

Held once a month (mid-month).

• 08:00 – 13:00
• IPSC Handgun or 3 Gun Nation
• Competitive-style stages in a relaxed environment

• Use handgun, shotgun, and rifle in one match
• Develop real multi-platform skills
• Build confidence under safe, structured conditions

Open to all experience levels.
