Steps to Register
- Choose the correct Training Unit(s) that you would like to learn.
- Complete the form below.
- Click on the Register button.
- Tac SHAC will contact you within 24 hours to arrange your training.
- You will be required to collect your Training Material in upon arrangement.
- Training is available in JHB & West Rand or PTA & East Rand, please specify.

Please read and follow the steps below carefully to ensure a smooth training and assessment process.
📘 Study Materials: Thoroughly review all manuals provided before your assessment.
📝 Formative (Open Book) Tests: Complete all tests in the manuals using the same black pen throughout. No typing, correction fluid, or tape (e.g., Tippex) may be used. Ensure your handwriting is clear and legible.
📄 Registration Forms: Complete all registration forms found in your books in full. Sign and date all relevant pages, tests, and documents. Write your learner number (found on the front of your book, e.g., K49Bh) wherever required.
🪪 Certified Copies of ID: Bring two certified copies of your ID on the day of your Summative (Closed Book) Test.
📚 Open Book Test: Complete this at home at your convenience. If you need clarification, contact Lynette for assistance. Start 08h00 SHARP. If you arrive after 8h30 (special circumstances) you will need to rebook your spot.
🏢 Closed Book Test: Need to be booked. Held at Tac SHAC Offices, Northcliff. You will write this under supervision.
📘 Cancellation of Open Book Test & Practical Assessment: Needs to be done 24 hours prior to the booking. No shows R500 fee. Rebooking fee R150.
🎯 Practical Assessment: Conducted at the JMPD Shooting Range in Roodepoort, usually on the same day as the closed book test.
👟 Practical Attire: Wear comfortable clothing, closed shoes, and a cap or hat.
For Handgun Business Purposes, please wear a sturdy belt.
